Frequently Asked Questions

Handmade products are different from store-bought products in that they provide you with nutrient dense nutrition for your skin without all the harsh chemicals and toxic preservatives that store-bought products contain. With our top-notch hydrating products, you can enjoy a radiant, hydrated complexion and find the ideal solution for dry, tired skin but feel assured that you are giving your skin the best nutrients that nature can offer. skin.

Although they might at first seem to be more expensive, handmade products like our soaps, scrubs, and masks are actually better for your skin—and for your overall well-being for many different reasons.

Let's do some math here: A conventional lettuce costs an average of $1.78 while an organic one cost an average of $3.48.

However, you would need to eat twice of the conventional lettuce to get the same nutrition that you would get from the organic one. $1.78 x 2=3.56.

You are actually saving money here! The same happens with handmade products.

For example, our body butters and body scrubs are so high-quality that people often tell us that they last way more than a store-bought product because a little goes a long way.

Whereas a cheaper store-bought product of the same type doesn't last as long nor provides the best nourishment for your skin

There are a lot of benefits to using handmade soap, including:

1. Cold-processed natural soap doesn't have chemicals in it like store-bought soap does. Our handcrafted soap bars are made with natural organic oils, butters, and essential oils and fragrances that are good for your skin. They don't have any chemicals or preservatives in them.

2. Because of this, they are gentler on the skin. They are especially helpful if you suffer from sensitive skin, eczema, psoriasis, or any skin condition.

3. Our handmade soaps are made with shea butter, coconut oil, castor oil and high-oleic sunflower oil, which makes them ultra-hydrating.

Our soaps are 4 oz on average. This is about the same size as a standard soap bar. How much they last depends on usage and care. On average, they last a month. There are also other ways to make them last even longer.

Please refer to any of our soap listings for a detailed video on how to use our soaps as well as tips and tricks on how to make them last longer.

First, we start crafting our handmade body scrubs with nourishing oils and butters, then we add glycerin to attract even more moisture to your skin and then, to top it up, we add marshmallow root powder to gently soothe and rejuvenate your skin.

Our customers tell us all the time how much they love how their skin feels so soft and hydrated after using them!

Our Shea Butter-Tallow Body Butters are:

1. Rich in nutrients: Because tallow is an excellent source of vitamins A, D, E, and K, which support regeneration of the skin and nourishment.

These fat-soluble vitamins support youthful-looking skin and promote cell renewal.

2. Highly Moisturizing: Tallow is an excellent moisturizer as it closely mimics the natural oils present in human skin.

Tallow deeply enters the skin to deliver continuous moisture and help in the repair of dry or damaged skin.

3. Anti-Inflammatory Properties: Tallow contains conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) and palmitoleic acid, both known for their anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties.

This makes tallow butter great for soothing irritated or sensitive skin.

4. Non-Comedogenic: Despite being rich and fatty, tallow doesn’t clog pores.

It is suitable for a wide range of skin types, including oily and acne-prone skin, as it allows the skin to breathe while moisturizing it.

Tallow body butter does take longer to be absorbed by your skin.

This is simply because it is a dense moisturizer and most people are used to watery lotions that don't do much for your skin, unless you apply them very often.

5. Shea butter is packed with essential fatty acids, including oleic, stearic, palmitic, and linolenic acids. These fatty acids not only moisturize the skin but also help to retain moisture by forming a barrier on the skin's surface. This makes shea butter particularly effective for dry, flaky, or cracked skin.

Our body butters are packed with shea butter too!

JOSSPURE | Natural Handcrafted Soap Bars & Body Care in Fort Worth, Texas

When it all began

Welcome to our story of resilience and passion. I’m Frances, and alongside my incredible husband Johnny, we’ve turned a humble hobby into a thriving business that now fuels our online store, Josspure. Five years ago, I discovered the soothing art of soap making. It started as a creative escape, a way to balance life as a busy teacher, wife, and mother. I enjoyed experimenting with natural ingredients, seeking to create products that would nourish the skin while also elevating the everyday self-care routine.

But four years later, life threw us an unexpected challenge. A debilitating back injury left me bedridden for nearly a year, with doctors unsure if I would ever walk again. During those dark months of uncertainty, soap making became more than just a hobby—it became my lifeline. Unable to return to my classroom, I began pouring all my energy into creating organic, handcrafted soaps and body care products, focusing on high-quality ingredients and formulations that would not only care for the skin but also provide moments of relaxation and peace.
